Reflections on the Revolution in Ulster: The Irish Volunteers in the North, 1913-1923

‘Reflections on the Revolution in Ulster: The Irish Volunteers in the North, 1913-23’ is a one-day historical conference to be held at the Cardinal Ó Fiaich Library and Archive on Saturday 14 November 2015.

The conference arises out of the Fr Louis O’Kane collection of interviews with Irish War of Independence veterans from Ulster, carried out in the 1963-73 period. This collection comprises some 120 taped interviews with 70 men and women.

The conference will feature audio material from these interviews and papers focused on key personalities and divisions of the Irish Volunteers and pre-Truce IRA in Ulster.

The Cardinal Tomás Ó Fiaich Library & Archive is a free independent library and archive situated in Armagh, the ecclesiastical capital of Ireland. It houses a number of specialist collections of national and international importance.

Registration for the conference costs £10, which includes lunch. To register, please call the library at 028/048-37522981 or e-mail dmcanallen@mail.com
