Our Patron

President Michael D. Higgins becomes Patron of the Oral History Network of Ireland

The Oral History Network of Ireland is honoured to announce that the President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins, has agreed to become our Patron. We are delighted that the President has taken this role, and we are positive that it helps to highlight the value of what OHNI is trying to achieve.

In May 2015, President Higgins graciously accepted our invitation to become our Patron. In addition to his track record of thoughtful and insightful engagement with the cultural landscape of Ireland, President Higgins’ affection for Ireland’s narrative culture, history and storytelling tradition make him a very fitting Patron for the Network.

We look forward to his support and patronage over the coming years.
